Comaneci didn't just draw worldwide attention; she also put Romania onto the map. The sports icon became a global sensation when she came up with an unbeatable performance. Her story became a legend as well as helped make gymnastics a popular sport across the world. It also changed people's perception of female gymnasts. This was due to the effect she made at the Olympics and the release move that both moves toe-on (toes on) and release are named after her. They've remained until today, as difficult. Aside from the Olympics she was also the hottest athlete at World Championships and European Championships. Her performance have made her one of the best gymnasts ever.
