Arike Ogunbowale is the American basketball player for the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association. Arike Ogunbowale played college basketball with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before being drafted to the Wings as a fifth overall pick for the year 2019 WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale was born the 2nd of March in 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26) and Dare Ogunbowale(20) are two of her siblings. The parents of her were the ones who spoilt her most due to her being the youngest. The father of her Gregory was posted to the Nigerian Army for quite some time. Ogunbowale was raised in a bustling family. Her mother Yolanda played softball for DePaul and her brother Dare plays football. Her aunt was a volleyball player at UAPB as was her cousin Endia Oliver too plays Volleyball in Tennessee State. The name of Ogunbowale was included on the honour roll at the high school she attended for three consecutive years. In high school, Ogunbowale has received numerous awards and has was recognized as a celebrity. Arike graduated from secondary school education at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School which is located in her hometown. She played three varsity season as she studied at the school. Ogunbowale led her team to multiple victories using her outstanding skills. High schooler Ogunbowale has made 7 appearances in the league and had 1,477 rebounds and 1,477 rebound throughout her playing career. Ogunbowale was crowned gold at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championships, 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championships. On July 7 2014 she was named to the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale, who is in her first collegiate seasons she was selected as one of the ACC All-Freshman Team.
